*URANIUM GLASS* bead necklace

A lovely little uranium bead pendant necklace. 

This piece was made using a uranium glass bead or pendant and pieces of real vintage jewelry.  Uranium glass is special because it contains uranium dioxide, causing it to glow a neon green color under ultraviolet light. Produced largely between the 1880s and 1930s, this usually yellow-green vaseline glass is a popular collector's item prized for its striking, "magical" fluorescence, historical significance, and safe-to-handle low-level radioactivity.
